As many of you ladies are coming to find out, getting engaged is the easy part. The hard part is all the work that goes into planning and coordinating your big day! Aside from picking a venu, a photographer, a DJ, you now have to DIET (yuck). Picking a diet and workout regimen that works for you can be difficult so we are here to help with some do’s and don’ts!
Let’s talk about diets!
Eat six small meals a day:
I know it sounds funny to eat more and weigh less, but this really does work. Within two weeks of regularly feeding your body clean, small meals every two hours, stopping before 8pm, your metabolism revs itself up to burn the calories and becomes almost constant, even when you’re sleeping. Pairing this with the right amount of exercise is the fastest and most effective way to lose weight.
Don’t starve yourself:
Starving yourself sounds like a quick fix, but the second you take a cheat bite of a cupcake, your going right back up on that scale. Your body quickly realizes that you are not supplying it with a regular amount of food and and goes into a sort of “survival mode”. It starts storing anything you do put in as fat to have for later in case you decide to skip lunch again. Energy levels deplete and you’ll feel sluggish and cloudy, If you want to look and feel your best on your big day this is not the way to do it.
NO FAD DIETS:
Trust us, eating only raw food, or peanut butter three times a day, or cottage cheese right before bed for two weeks is NOT going to have long term effects. Your body needs a balanced diet to be able to create enough energy to fuel your workouts. Although you may be seeing decreased numbers on the scale within the first few days, they won’t stay there for long. Once you go back to eating regular meals, it’s all over.
Our favorite fat burning workouts:

Studies show that one full hour of zumba (an average class time) burns up to 750 calories. Thats ALOT. Studios all over the island are adapting these fun and fit classes, but no worries if you can’t make it in. There are hundreds and hundreds of free zumba classes on youtube you can watch and do at home over and over again.
